Grow 2Gether gives each farmer their own extension worker, a map of their farm, soil results they can understand, and weather and growing advice in one place.
Most smallholder farmers farm without good records, and without anyone checking their soil or mapping their land. That makes it hard to improve yields, hard to prove good practice to buyers, and hard to get support that fits.
Grow 2Gether changes that one farm at a time. An extension worker is appointed to each farmer, visits regularly, and records what they find. The farm is mapped, the soil is tested, and the farmer gets clear advice based on their own land and the weather coming their way.
Simple, practical support that builds up over time
One named person is responsible for visiting and supporting each farmer, on a regular schedule.
The edge of each plot is walked and recorded, so the farm's size and position are known and on record.
Lab results are shown as green, amber and red signals, so it is clear what is fine and what needs attention.
A seven-day weather view for the farm's own location, with alerts when conditions call for action.
Advice draws on a shared library of good practice for each crop and growing region.
Every visit is logged with its location and date. Buyers and certifiers can see that the farm is supported and its boundary is known.
Grow 2Gether is starting with tea farmers around Kangaita in Kirinyaga County, Kenya. We are building it step by step with farmers and extension workers, and we will share what we learn as we go.
Grow 2Gether is part of the GT-AI Network, which brings knowledge and technology to African agriculture.
